Connecting & Regions β Europe, Americas, Asia, Oceania
Five ways into one world: Europe (Germany), USA, Singapore, Sydney and SΓ£o Paulo. Same account and characters through every gateway, only the route changes.
Connecting & Regions
The server itself sits in Germany. If you are playing from another continent, connecting to it directly means your traffic crosses an ocean and takes whatever route the internet feels like giving it that day.
So the server select screen offers five entries instead of one.
| Entry | Region | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| SecondWind RO | Direct, Germany | Europe and anywhere nearby |
| SecondWind RO (USA) | North America | Players in the Americas |
| SecondWind RO (Singapore) | Southeast Asia | Players across Asia |
| SecondWind RO (Sydney) | Oceania | Australia and New Zealand |
| SecondWind RO (South America) | Brazil, SΓ£o Paulo | Brazil, Argentina and the rest of South America |
What the regional entries are#
They are network relays. There is no second server behind any of them. Your traffic enters the relay close to where you live and travels the rest of the way over a better-managed route than the public internet usually provides.
Fixed on 9 August 2026. Until then the relays only handled the login step. After that the server sent your client straight to Germany, so picking a regional entry changed nothing about how the game itself played. Now your traffic stays on the entry you chose from login to logout. If you tried a regional entry before and it made no difference, it is worth another go.
There is one world and one database. Your account, your characters, your storage and your guild are identical no matter which entry you pick. Nothing is duplicated, nothing is regional, and nothing needs transferring.
You can switch between entries whenever you like. Log in through Singapore today and directly tomorrow, and you will not notice anything except the ping.
Picking one#
Start with the entry that matches your region. If it feels good, you are done.
If it does not, try the others including the direct one. Internet routing is unpredictable, and the geographically obvious answer is not always the fastest. Some players in Asia get better results going direct than through Singapore because of how their provider peers.
If you play from Mexico or Central America, try the USA entry as well as South America. Traffic from there to Europe usually travels north through the United States anyway, so the shorter-looking route is not always the faster one.
If your ping suddenly gets worse, try another entry before concluding the server is having problems. Routes change, providers reconfigure things, and a relay that was perfect last week can be mediocre this week. Switching takes ten seconds.
Not seeing the regional entries#
They arrived in a client update. Run secondwind_patcher.exe once and it fetches the current server list, then the entries appear the next time you start the client.
If they still do not, see Troubleshooting.
One community#
There are no regional shards here and there will not be any. Everybody plays on the same server regardless of how they connect, which means one market, one set of guilds, one event calendar and one Hall of Fame.
The server language is English for the same reason. A single population that can talk to each other is worth more than several that cannot.
