Poring Coin System

Poring Coins are the server's second currency. Almost every monster can drop one, most events pay them, and Lydia in Prontera turns them into something useful.

Coins are an ordinary tradeable item. You can sell them, store them or hand them to a friend. Grinders can sell coins for zeny, rich players can buy them. Both sides get what they wanted.

Where coins come from#

Monsters. About 5 percent of kills drop a coin, on almost everything in the game. A Poring and a Baphomet have the same odds. No level requirement, no map restriction.

Three exceptions exist, all aimed at farm spots rather than at normal play:

  1. Things that cannot fight back pay nothing.
  2. Five crowd monsters pay 1 percent instead of 5.
  3. Kills stop paying while you are away from the keyboard.

Everything else pays the full rate. The exact lists are below.

Events. Most events pay coins on top of their own prize. The Poring Invasion pays Golden Gamble Pouches instead.

Event Coins
Find the Mushroom 2 per mushroom
Disguise 3 per round won, up to 30 per event
Reverse Race 20 to the winner
Zombie Survival 25 to the last one standing
Cluckers 10 plus an Old Blue Box
Poring Invasion 25 to whoever finishes the Poring King

The Reverse Race and Zombie Survival also roll a 5 percent chance at a supply pack and a 0.1 percent chance at a Hunter's Cache on top.

Seasonal events pay too. Christmas rings 10 to 15, Halloween 5 to 15, Valentine's chocolate 3 apiece, Uneasy Cemetery 10.

Voting pays Vote Points, a separate account-bound currency with its own shop. See Vote Rewards.

Monsters that pay nothing#

They stand still, they do not fight back, and most give no experience. Since 9 August 2026 they drop no coins.

Monster ID Mainly found
Ant Egg 1097, 1236 Ant Hell F1
Thief Bug Egg 1048 Prontera Culvert F1 to F3
Peco Peco Egg 1047, 1232 Sograt Desert
Hydra 1068 Byalan Island, Sunken Ship
Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White Plant 1078 to 1082 fields and dungeons everywhere
Shining Plant 1083, 1878 fields and dungeons everywhere
Black and Red Mushroom 1084, 1085 Geffen Field 11, Byalan F2, Payon Field 1, Mjolnir
Thief Mushroom 1182 does not spawn in Pre-Renewal, listed for completeness

Where two IDs share a name, an event or guardian copy exists. Both are covered.

Monsters that pay 1 percent#

Five monsters that stand sixty to eighty deep on one floor and die in a hit or two. Only the coin rate moved. Experience, drops, cards, kill counter, quests and achievements are untouched.

Monster ID Mainly found
Thief Bug 1051 Prontera Culvert F2 (70) and F1 (30)
Thief Bug Female 1053 Prontera Culvert F3 (65)
Familiar 1005 Pyramids F1 (50), Mjolnir Dead Pit F1 (30), Ant Hell (40)
Tarou 1175 Prontera Culvert F2 (60), Mjolnir Dead Pit F1 (60)
Orc Zombie 1153 Orc Dungeon F1 (80)

Ant Hell's actual ants were left alone on purpose. Andre, Piere and Deniro have real health and real experience. The same goes for Eggyra, Spore and Plankton. The test was never the name, it was whether the monster fights back.

The AFK rule#

After 90 seconds without any action from you, kills stop paying coins. Moving, attacking, using a skill or item, or talking to an NPC resets the timer. Anyone playing normally never sees this rule.

Kills your homunculus or mercenary made on their own carry a second limit. They also stop counting after three minutes without a real change of position, which means ten cells or more from where you last stood. One click on the ground does not count, you have to arrive somewhere. Your companion resets neither timer, it runs its own clock.

An Alchemist who parks a homunculus and walks away stops earning coins after a minute and a half. An Alchemist who plays normally earns coins for every homunculus kill.

Both timers pause the same three things for companion kills: coins, autoloot and the kill counters. The drops still land on the ground and you can pick them up by hand. Everything restarts the moment you act or move.

What Lydia sells#

Lydia stands at . Four categories.

Scrolls and potions#

Item Coins
Speed Potion 10 Box 5
LV10 Blessing Scroll 6
LV10 Agil Scroll 6
Life Insurance 10
Medium Life Potion 15
Regeneration Potion 15
Tyr's Blessing 25
Blessing Scroll 10 Box 60
Increase Agility Scroll 10 Box 60
Medium Life Potion 10 Box 150
Regeneration Potion 10 Box 150

Boxes cost exactly ten times the single item. Bulk saves clicks, not coins, on purpose.

Life Insurance does not revive you. Use it beforehand and it protects your EXP from death for 30 minutes. Ten coins well spent before an MVP attempt.

Wings and travel#

Item Coins
Giant Fly Wing 50 Box 30
Green Butterfly Wing 5 Box 50
Blue Butterfly Wing 5 Box 50
Red Butterfly Wing 5 Box 50

Boxes and rare#

Item Coins
Kafra Card 20
Barricade Repair Kit 75
Adventurer's Cache 80
Alchemist's Cache 140
Kafra Card Box (10 cards) 200
Veteran Hunter's Cache 200
Dead Branch 10 Box 250
Mysterious Dyestuff 500

The three caches are SecondWind RO's own mystery boxes. Adventurer's holds building supplies, Alchemist's holds brewing materials, and the Veteran Hunter's Cache is the endgame one with a guaranteed +7 Weapon or Armor Refine Ticket in its top slot. Euphy's ticket refiner redeems those.

The plain Hunter's Cache with the real Bloody Branch chance left the shop on 5 August. On a server with 1x MVP cards, a buyable box with unlimited supply was the wrong route to a Bloody Branch. It only exists as a 0.1 percent event prize now.

Big ticket#

Item Coins
Reset Pass 350
Costume Ticket 400
Name Change Voucher 500
Gender Change Voucher 500
Field Manual 100% 600
Bubble Gum 1,000

The Reset Pass goes to the Reset Girl and covers stats, skills or both. The Costume Ticket pays the Costume Converter fee instead of a million zeny.

Hobota, the same shop for Mission Points#

Hobota stands next to Lydia at and sells at one and a half times the price, paid in Mission Points from the Hunting Board. Points cannot be traded and the board hands out at most 210 a day, while coins keep dropping the whole time you play. He carries everything except the three caches and the name and gender vouchers.

Running both currencies beats either alone. Coins pile up while you play, points fill from missions you would run anyway.

Two more places that take coins#

Lydia and Hobota are not the only counters any more.

Dimonka at builds 26 headgears. Prices run from 700 to 3,000 coins, and every hat wants gathered materials on top. This is the long goal to save for.

The Slot Machine in the Comodo casino at takes six coins a spin. Roughly one spin in three pays something back, and there is a one in ten thousand shot at a million zeny. Full odds on Comodo Casino.

Why nothing here makes you stronger#

Neither shop sells anything that affects a fight. No stat food, no equipment, no cards, no converters. A currency that drops from every monster and trades for zeny is a currency you can buy. The moment power sits on that shelf, the server has a pay-to-win problem.

So the shops sell convenience, cosmetics and consumables. A few items crossed the line and were pulled: elemental converters and stat food (players craft those, a shop undercuts them) and the Gym Pass (permanent weight capacity for a farmable currency).

Drop rate history#

Launched at 5 percent. Cut to 2.5 in late July while shop prices were being fixed. Back to 5 percent on 2 August. Since 9 August the rate stays put and the farm-spot exceptions above do the balancing instead. Coins in your pocket are never touched by any of this.
